Objective
Students will be able to:
• adapt their interpreting practice to the requirements of work environments and give expert presentations on the work of interpreters
• produce interpreting output that supports interaction
• identify social, situational and geographical variations of their working languages and take them into account in their language output
• resolve problems in connection with assignments and work in a professional and confident manner
• analyse power relations and the use of power in interpreted interactions
• analyse interpreting assignments and their own practice within theoretical frameworks of reference
• coordinate and plan interpreting for various contexts in cooperation with other interpreters and professionals.
Content
During the practical training period, students develop their ability to analyse various interpreting assignments and advance their skills in multidisciplinary cooperation. Students develop their competencies in interpreting into simple sign language. Students will determine their own learning objectives aimed at developing their interpreting skills and range of work environments. At the end of the course, students take a final exam in sign language interpreting in a health and/or social care setting or context.
Learning environment: practical training (compulsory 5 ECTS credits).

Prerequisites: Students must complete all preceding professional studies before taking this course.
