Objective
The student:
-becomes familiar with the principles and special characteristics of e-mentoring
-views e-mentoring as a pedagogical process
-learns to articulate and share their own professional competence in a peer group
-recognizes the importance of respectful encounters as a part of pedagogical and peer-based activities
Content
The study course consists of five educational meetings and working in the role of a mentor during one academic year. The student familiarizes themselves with working in an online environment, mentoring in general, and the ethical principles and group agreements of the activities. The student works as an e-mentor in a setting of their own choosing with a group of their own choosing. During the mentoring, the student will reflect on their progress as a mentor by attending meetings and keeping a learning diary. The course will be carried out online.
In order to work as a mentor, there is a prerequisite to have multiple years of experience from the field and to be interested in sharing and developing their own competence.
Please note: On this course there is a quota for our students, and it may be needed to use preliminary interviews when choosing the participants. The course can be included in the curricula of Community Education, Interpreting, or Cultural Management.
