Objective

Students will be able to

- demonstrate self-leadership, self-directedness and responsibility in their learning and professional practice
-plan and assess their professional growth from the competence perspective
- demonstrate their competencies
- use their interpersonal and teamwork skills in learning and workplace communities
- apply professional ethics and sustainable development in their practice.

Content

The Professional development entrance examination course is designed to evaluate an individual’s ability to take part in studies at an institute of higher education with skills such as producing text, applying previously learned information onwards, analytical competence, and the ability to gain the necessary knowledge and skills to take part in the field of study. The course will also evaluate the student’s suitability for community educator studies done online in a blended learning environment. Suitability can be shown by motivation and previous skills gained for example from worklife experience, acting in positions of trust, volunteer work, or by some other activity in the field.

Further information

Where applicable, the study module goes through the contents and objectives of Developing Professional Skills (5 ECTS). The community educator blended learning online degree MOVE-entrance exam course consists of four parts. In the first part, the focus is on recognizing the environments fitting for a degree programme of organizational and youth work. The second part is designed for motivation and self-management and the third on career planning. In the fourth part, the focus is on preparedness for studies.
