Objective

Students
- Are familiar with the Finnish Canoeing and Rowing Federation requirements of becoming a kayaking instructor.
- Train the technical kayaking skills to meet the requirements to pass European Paddle Pass 2 test
- Participate successfully on kayaking instructor training: by active participation demonstrate competence to act as a kayaking instructor

Content

Students develop their skills to meet the standard to pass EPP2 test and demonstrate kayaking instructor competence during kayaking trip. The course focuses on technical skills and readiness to lead kayaking groups in easy paddling conditions. They demonstrate skills to maintain the safe learning environment. Leadership skills are adequate to paddle with beginner and intermediate kayaking groups. Students are able to react and plan according changing weather conditions, terrain and people.

Qualifications

- Outdoor skills in adventure education 10 ECTS
- Participation in Ekenäs kayaking expedition
