Introduction to adventure education
Location and time
Students study the course independently online at their own pace between 1.10.2024 and 31.7.2025.The course is recommended to be completed in a tight schedule. The scope of the course, 2 credits, corresponds to a total of approximately 54 hours of work.
Teaching methods
Students will study the course independently bonline. During the course, you will study different materials and do various learning tasks.
Further information
The course introduces you to adventure education through three main themes. The themes of the course are 1) What is adventure? 2) What is adventure education? 3) Applicability and professional field.
In the "What is adventure?" section, students will be introduced to adventure and adventure education through their own experience and material. "What is adventure education?" section builds the knowledge base of adventure education and introduces the pedagogy of adventure education. In the "Applicability and professional field" section the students learn about different work fields in Adventure and Outdoor Education and develop e a basic understanding of different professional fields and areas of application.
